Musician and entrepreneur Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, widely known as D-Black, has made a revelation about why he left the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
In an interview with Bryt TV, monitored by Ghansongs Graphics, D-Black disclosed that he was under duress to choose UCC over the University of Ghana (UG), which was against his will. He explained that right after completing senior high school, he wanted to pursue his music dreams, but his parents were not in support of the idea and proposed a tertiary education for him.
According to D-Black, he was always eager to attend UG rather than UCC in order to help materialize his music dreams, as he deemed his university of choice to be the right grounds to develop his talent.
However, he was forced by his parents to attend UCC, and his parents reluctantly made him watch TV and music shows on campus as he disliked his environment. In his quest to leave UCC, D-Black said he went behind bars to switch from UCC to UG without his parents’ consent.
D-Black affirmed that it was this change that exposed him to more music opportunities in Accra. He stayed with DJ Mensah for the next two years at Madina.
