Sensational artist Guru has opened up, saying that his enrollment at the University of Ghana was a dream come true for him. The artist has disclosed in an interview with Joy Prime, monitored by Ghanasongs Graphics, that he was an active student who collaborated with the Student Representative Council as well as his hall of affiliation to organize several important events on campus.
“The University of Ghana has always been my dream and being there feels like a dream come true. So I was willing to do everything for them.
“My first year, I was helping and sponsoring some of the Hall Week celebrations, and I was collaborating with the SRC to help organise Evandy Hall Week celebrations. I was able to bring Mister Drew, and it worked so well,” he stated.
Guru made known how his mother had always been passionate about him furthering his education to the tertiary level, so after the COVID-19 lockdown and out of boredom, he enrolled himself at the school.
He also revealed that initially he pursued a degree in information studies but later switched to political science because he wanted to work with the United Nations.
“After COVID, I was bored. So I said, “Okay, let me jump into academics because my mom loves academics so much she wants me to complete my degree, and I jumped on the University of Ghana, basically to study a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and I later switched to studying political science and information studies, and to put it into practice, I really want to work with the UN,” he said.
