Strongman has disclosed that he has given up and is not bothered about winning Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). The artist has opened up about how he has grabbed many nominations at the notable award scheme yet he still struggles to take an award home.
Born Osei Kwaku Vincent but widely known as Strongman, he has been one of Ghana’s finest rappers, whose lyrical prowess is feared by many contenders. The Kumasi-based rapper revealed that he has received 4 consecutive Best Rapper nominations and 5 in total but yet he is always snubbed.
Strongman disclosed that at first this was a major problem for him, as he was always in deep pain for the continuous snubbing at the awards, but now he has normalized it.
The rapper stated in an interview on Joy Prime that he is now more focused on his music career and is not much bothered about winning the TGMA award.
“In five years, I have had five best rapper nominations. I’m the only rapper in Ghana who has had five best rapper nominations in five years. And the funny aspect is that I’ve not been able to pick any of the awards.
“I’m not that bothered. I used to get bothered, but right now, I am hardened. My mind is caked like cement,” Strongman stated.
