The issue of divorce pertaining to footballers and their wives has been a strong concern for the masses. This is due to the fact that some football players almost lose all their properties to their divorced wives. This similar issue happened to Odartey Lamptey, an ex-Ghanaian footballer, in which his wife almost demanded to have in possession virtually all his properties.
Ex-Ivorian professional footballer Emmanuel Eboue became a victim and lost all his money and properties to his wife, not knowing he had signed them under her will. Taribo West, David James, and many other professional footballers around the world faced a similar issue in which they lost all their properties to their wives following a divorce. Fresh reports that have surfaced on the internet give a report on ex-Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan having been ordered by the Accra High Court to share his property with his divorced wife.
This final verdict emerged from an impending case for the past three years, and these are some orders in the verdict. Asamoah Gyan, having accepted to be the biological father of their three children, is to pay a monthly keep-up of 25,000 Ghana cedis.
He also has to take care of expenses like school fees, medical and dental care, and flight tickets, among other needs. His wife Gifty has been awarded Asamoah Gyan’s four-bedroom apartment at Spintex in Accra as well as land that was to be used for a fuel station. She is also to be given a BMW and an Infiniti car from the garage of Asamoah Gyan.
Asamoah Gyan tweeted in response to the news, “If I have 10 points and I keep quiet because I’m mature, and you have 2 points and you’re going to find public sympathy, then it’s cool. You are very funny. This is deep, so think about it.” Many people think these things will not affect his wealth, per his comment.
