Ghanaian artist Obibini has rekindled his long-time beef with Amerado following some comments he made regarding his rival’s career.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye of Property FM, Obibini disclosed that he was glad Amerado has realized that rap is not his field and he deserved to sing. Obibini had jumped on a beef song to Amerado some time ago and he seems to rekindle his beef again with his derogatory remarks about Amerado.
“When I say my stuff and I go, I don’t really focus on things like that, but I remember I was asked in an interview about being consistent as a rapper and rap music. And I said that I’ve realized that Amerado has found his field that he’s really good at, and I’m glad for him, so he should keep on,” Obibini said.
Obibini disclosed that Amerado was not a consistent rapper, and he has to leave the rap for him to pursue singing.
“Then it’s also good that he has realized that singing is his strength, so he must leave the rap to Obibini for me to do it, and then he’ll concentrate on this side.
“So that’s basically what I was saying about being a consistent rapper in that interview, and I was just giving Amerado props, unlike what others are reporting.” Obibini added.
Amerado won the 2023 VGMA Best Rap Performance award as a rapper but quickly switched to singing after releasing his hit song, “Kwaku Ananse.”.
The song proceeded to win TGMA’s Best Highlife Song of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards in 2024, and Amerado now seemed concentrated on singing more than the rap he is known for.
Amerado has yet to respond to the comments made by Obibini regarding his music career.
