Veteran musician Reggie Rockstone has shared some sweet moments in his life since coming up as an artist in the early 1990’s. The hip-life artist, who is widely regarded as the pioneer of hip-life in Ghana, disclosed in an interview with Abeiku Santana on ‘Atuu’ that he did not struggle much when climbing the music ladder.
As much as many great artists struggled at the beginning before coming into the limelight, it was a much smoother and simpler experience for the hip-hop grandpa.
Reggie Rockstone revealed that his father was an executive producer in music, which paved the way for him as many of the difficult works had already been done by his father. This did not make him beg for fame as a budding artist, and he shone even though his talent was the ultimate.
“For me, it was a walk in the path. Like I keep telling you, I was blessed. My father was an executive producer. I never had to beg anyone for a push or something. I got everything on a silver platter. I would be lying to you if I said I faced any challenges when I started music. That is why a lot of people say I am so relaxed. It is my talent,” Reggie said.
The artist is married to the daughter of the late president of Ghana, Dr. Hilla Limann, and the duo runs a ‘waakye’ business known as ‘Rockz Waakye’ aside from his music.
