Veteran Ghanaian artist Okyeame Kwame has revealed his displeasure about the anti-LGBTQ bill that is supposed to sanction those who engage in oral sex, specifically ‘Blowjob’. Okyeame Kwame feels this does not have any meaning if the government is seeking to criminalize homosexual activities and their related acts. The artist believes that oral sex has become very common in our society, and he does not know why the government wants to criminalize the act in the proposed bill. Okyeame Kwame said that although he has not gone into details of what the bill actually entails, he heard it was going to sanction those who engage in ‘Blowjob’, which could even lead to a three-year jail term.
Okyeame Kwame stated that if this were actually true, then it would be unfair to pass such a law, and many people would frown against that.
“I haven’t focused on the bill or read it. But I heard that if the bill is passed and you engage in oral sex activities like BJ (blowjobs) with your partner, you could be jailed for 3 years if caught. Why is that?” he said on United Showbiz on UTV Ghana.
Okyeame Kwame revealed that the inclusion of Blowjob I the bill is what perturbs him, but not the bill itself.
“If you’re jailing LGBT+ people, why are you involving people who engage in blowjobs?” Okyeame Kwame added.
The artist revealed that the government could channel its energy into fighting the LGBTQ community rather than driving away corruption from the system.
